On your first day of arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, office staff will receive you and transfer you to a three-star hotel around Thamel. The route from Kathmandu to Koto involves driving on the Annapurna Circuit trek in Nepal. It's a scenic and adventurous journey, passing through diverse landscapes and charming villages. The route from Kathmandu to Koto is very adventurous and quite difficult. Until we reach Koto, the point where the Annapurna circuit trekking trail and Himlung Himal Expedition trail separated, we will travel around 5-6 hours from Kathmandu to Besisahar,till there road is in good condition, after Besisahar to Koto drive hours is more 5-6 hrs which is totally off-road jeep. While driving to koto we admiring the stunning villages in the background, the farmlands and the forests.

After leaving the main Annapurna Circuit trail in the morning and heading to the Himlung Himal region the trek goes into a cool alpine woodland of pine and rhododendron trees before entering a narrow gorge between large walls of the high rock cliff. After passing through farm huts and sheds the walk then leads up stream through a number of scattered small farmhouses to Meta for an overnight stay.

Our walk today will be tough because we will be rising a lot of elevation. We make our way forward by trekking over difficult terrain, passing through Tibaten-style little settlements with small structures and flower-filled fields, crossing rivers on suspension bridges, and passing prayer flags. The wonderful and colourful chhortens that are the highlight of Nar and Phu villages are going to amaze us. We have to cross further smaller streams, magnificent gorges, and canyonlands until we reach the Phu gate. The beginning of the scene in Phu's first settlement is framed by views of forts that are now only ruins. Your journey will end at the Phu village.

We steadily ascend towards the Himlung Himal Base Camp after exploring the lovely and captivating Phu Gaun. To get to the base camp, which is at 4840 metres, we will trek up the moraine and cross the Pangri Glacier through large rocks. The Base Camp is located in a rather cosy area with access to water nearby and the lowest avalanche risk. At the Base Camp, we unwind and sleep the night away.

The Himlung Expedition is considered moderately difficult in terms of technical climbing skills required. Climbers should have prior experience with high-altitude mountaineering and be familiar with roped glacier travel, ice climbing, and snow skills.

The best time for the Himlung Expedition is typically during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months offer stable weather and favorable climbing conditions.

Basic Information

Accommodation:
The price of the Himlung Himal Expedition includes a hotel and a tent. We provide a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu with a B/Bplan and accommodation on twin-sharing basis, as well as guest houses and tent  on trekking route. Trekkers will have access to double dome tents for camping . On the camping site and throughout the climbing period, our crew will erect tents; our climbing guide will take care of tent and all accommodations. However, as per business policy, a single supplement will be charged if someone wants a single room and tent.

Food:
In Kathmandu breakfast is included; however, lunch and dinner are not included and must be paid for separately. Both itineraries—from Besisahar to Phu Village and Upper Mustang-Yara—have a broad selection of cuisine, and it is simple to get what you need at the guest house. If you let us know ahead of time that you are gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, or vegan, we can accommodate your needs. We have our own cooking team who will prepare a variety of meals on the camping trek and in the base camp. You must help with the guide during the high-food climbing time.

Guide & Porters:
A government-licensed Trekking guide or climbing licensed guide will lead the trekking trail and Climbing period will lead by climbing licensed guide. All our guides have experience on the trails and are passionate about the trekking industry. Our guides and porters are dedicated to making your experience of trekking in Nepal a memorable one. If there’s any worry during your trek, our guides will address it. Your safety is our number one priority. For groups of more than four people, there will be one guide and other assistant guide depend on how big group in a trekking period. Will be 1 guide for 2 climbers in a Climbing period. Trekking period, there will be one porter for every two trekkers for trekkers baggage. For camping crew, we’ll need more porters to hold the food, kitchen equipment, tents, etc.

Fitness:
Himlung Himal is above 7000m from sea level, if you are planning to climb Himlung Himal, you should have to fit by physically and mentally. We would like to say start fitness before 3 months of the expedition for fit Himlung Himal Expedition. Some tips for fit physicality, can do morning walk or running every day at least one hour, hiking a day in a week, and indoor or outdoor climbing frequently. We do not recommend gym exercise for climbing fitness.

Acclimatization/Experience:
Himlung Himal Expedition lead us high into the Himalayas, it is necessary to let our bodies sufficiently get used to the altitude. Our trip has acclimatization days built into the itinerary. It is best to take it slow to prevent altitude sickness. On average, expect to walk an average of 5-6 hours per day while on the trek. At the Himlung Himal climbing period will be a more less 2 weeks, between this period, we will do Acclimatization, like climb camp 1 and back to base camp, rest. Climb to camp 2 touch, and overnight camp one and back to base camp next day, rest in base camp.

Travel Insurance:
We strongly recommend having travel insurance before going on Himlung Himal Expedition. We do our best to take care of you, but something can happen that is out of our control. In case of a medical emergency, leading to a helicopter evacuation, it is best to have insurance. Be sure that your insurance covers accidents abroad and high in the mountains. We will do our Porter, Staffa and Climbing Guide accident and rescue insurance from our company.

Best Time to Travel:
The best season for climbing Himlung Himal is in September, October and November Atom season and April May in a Spring season. These times provide the simplest scenery and clearest skies. It is also possible to climb during the monsoon season (June to August), though the views will likely be covered by clouds and all grounds would be very colorful with different wild Himalayan flowers.
