Saribung Peak Climbing is one of the best peak climbing in Nepal. It lies 6328 meters above sea level. Climbing Saribung Peak is located on the border of Mustang & Manang districts, close to the border of China. Bhrikuti Shail in East, Karsang in North, Chhib Himal in South and Khumjung Himal from Saribung peak. Saribung Peak is technically an easy peak climbing in the Himalayas. You do not need such technical equipment for climbing Saribung Peak, like technical crampons, ice axes, etc. The Saribung Peak belongs to the Saribung Pass trekking which is one of the adventure trekking trails in Nepal.

In most of the peaks, the same trail used to back but in the Saribung peak you will take the other side trail. First, you will flow the Upper Mustang trek, and way back you will flow by the Nar Phu Valley trek. It means you will pass 2 famous trekking trails in Nepal. On your first day of arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, office staff will receive you and transfer you to a three-star hotel around Thamel. Staying in an Ancient village in Ghilling and exploring the village today is the of trekking and the beginning trail is a gentle climb and easy to Jaite Village and a steep climb up to Nyi La Pass 4007m, with a beautiful view of the landscape, impressive village, etc and the trail goes to down Ghami village. Lo Manthang is one of the best places to see in the Saribung peak climbing Itinerary. You will ascend gradually until you reach Dhi-La pass 4096m and the trail leads gradually down from the pass crossing with some ground and at the end steeply climbs down to Dhi village, this is a very spectacular route through a rock face. After the river trail is steep up a bit and gentle up to Batsyak La 5450m and slowly down to Damodar Kunda. Damodar Kunda is the pilgrim place for the Hindu religion and the Holi Lake of Damodar Kunda. Once a year, here people perform big worship and many pilgrims visit Damodar Kunda at that time. A ritual bath in this lake should free the pilgrims from their sins. Damodar Kunda is also the source of the Kali Gandaki River.

Today is the big day in this Saribung peak climbing trek as we are going to summit Saribung 6328m peak. We will begin early in the morning around 2 am to climb Saribung. The climbing route goes through Saribung Pass to the summit of Saribung peak which offers magnificent views of the thick spread of towering peaks of the surrounding mountains includes Chhib Himal, Kharsang Peak, and mountain views. After reaching the summit, return to Saribung Pass and descend toward Bhrikuti Basecamp.

After having a good rest in Brikuti Base Camp, this morning we will have a delicious breakfast and we will continue our trek to Old Phu. Yes, Sharibung Peak has a high level of technical climbing ability. It includes glacier trekking, crevasse crossings, and some difficult terrain. Prior experience with high-altitude mountaineering is strongly recommended.

Basic Information

Accommodation: 

During the Saribung peak climbing, the cost includes a hotel and a tent. We provide a 3-star hotel with B/B rooms on a twin-sharing basis in Kathmandu and a guest house with twin-sharing beds during trekking. You will have two people sharing a dome tent. Our staff will set up tents on the campsite and during the climbing period, and our climbing guide will manage the tents and all accommodations. However, if somebody would like to have a single room and tent, there will be an extra charge as a single supplement as per our company rules.

Food:  

During your stay in Kathmandu, you will get breakfast at a cost; lunch and dinner must be covered on your own. After Kathmandu, you will get breakfast, lunch, dinner, and tea or coffee on the whole trip. If you are a vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or lactose-free, we can work around that if you let us know ahead of time. During the camping trek period and in the base camp, we have our kitchen staff who will prepare a variety of food.

Guides and Porters:

A government-licensed trekking guide or mountain guide will lead the trekking trail, and the climbing period will be led by a mountain guide. All our guides have experience on the trails and are passionate about the tourism industry. Our guides and porters are dedicated to making your experience of trekking in Nepal memorable. If there’s any worry during your trek, our guides will address it. Your safety is our number one priority. For groups of more than four people, there will be one guide and another assistant guide, depending on the size of the group during a trekking period. There will be 1 guide for every 3 climbers in a climbing period. There will be one porter for every two trekkers to carry their luggage during the trek. For the camping crew, we’ll need more porters to hold the food, kitchen equipment, tents, etc.

Fitness:

Saribung Peak Climbing 6328m above sea level; if you are planning to climb Saribung Peak you should be fit physically and mentally. We would like to recommend starting fitness before 3 months of the expedition to be fit for Saribung Peak climbing. Some tips for fit physicality include taking a morning walk or running every day for at least one hour, hiking a day a week, and climbing indoors or outdoors frequently. We do not recommend gym exercises for climbing fitness.
Acclimatization/Experience:

Saribung Peak climbing leads us high into the Himalayas; it is necessary to let our bodies sufficiently get used to the altitude. Our trip has acclimatization days built into the itinerary. It is best to take it slowly to prevent altitude sickness. On average, expect to walk an average of 5 to 6 hours per day while on the trek.

Travel Insurance:

We strongly recommend having travel insurance before going on the Saribung Peak climb. We do our best to take care of you, but something can happen that is out of our control. In case of a medical emergency leading to a helicopter evacuation, it is best to have insurance. Be sure that your insurance covers accidents abroad and high in the mountains. We will get our porter, staff, and mountain guide accident and rescue insurance from our company.
