Helambu Trekking- Sacred Valley in Himalaya

Intorduction:

Helambu Trek is one of Nepal’s best-known trekking destinations. It is also known as Beyul Hyolmo, which means sacred hidden valley. A secret valley in the Himalayas called Beyul Hyolmo can save the faith at a pivotal moment. According to Guru Padmasambhava, these are locations where there is material abundance, spiritual harmony, and eternal life.

Helambu is renowned for its Buddhist and Hindu pilgrimages, and the temples and monasteries reflect their artistic and historical significance. There are many Buddhist sacred places and Guru Padmasambhava meditation practice caves.
Helambu, a stunning highland region in Nepal, is just 80 kilometres (or 4-5 hours) north of Kathmandu.

This  Helambu valley is surrounded by numerous mountain ranges and 5,000-metre peaks, including the Gaurishankar, Dorje Lyakpa, Jugal Himal, Langtang Himal, and Ganchenpo Mountains. It is the home place of the Hyolmo, Tamangs, Bhramins, Chhetris, and Dalits, and they each have their own unique cultures and traditions. This valley is also known as the place of Palchoki Mai. Helambu Trek is also very well known in the tourism industry. Since the advent of trekking in Nepal, Helambu has become the most well-liked and easy accessible tourist destination.

Some of the destinations that trekkers frequent the most are Melamchi Ghyang, Tarkeghyang, Sermathang, and Ghopteghyang Timbu. During trekking, the ongoing “ Helambu Great Trail” is an inspiring 60-kilometre trekking route that starts from Semrang (Ghopte Ghyang), and the whole Helambu valley is surrounded by this trail. Known Melamchi’s drinking water source is also in Helambu.

Aama Yangri Peak
Aama Yangri Peak is the main attraction in Helambu. It is also known as the protector goddess. Aama Yangri Peak is situated  3771 metres above sea level in Helambu. The Hyolmo people have faith in Aama Yangri, and  Hyolmo people hold a large puja (worship) every year in the month of Baisakh on Aama Yangri Peak; it is known as Tsechu in Hyolmo Language. On the occasion of Guru Rinpoche’s birth anniversary, this puja is performed. Tsechu puja is performed by lamas reciting Hyum scriptures for four or five days. It is also a celebration of Guru Rinpoche’s victory over demons through tantric dance. That’s why, on the occasion of Tsechu, lamas perform the mask dance. Hyolmo people celebrate this festival with joy and glee.

Also,Helambu is known as a famous Trekking destination, and Helambu trekking trail is less crowded, and nature continues to surprise with its beauty. Langtang Helambu Trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations in Nepal. The Helambu Trek goes through dense mountains, peaks, and the beautiful and colourful Rhododendron, past breathtaking waterfalls, and through many more natural ornaments. Helambu is additionally blessed with a wide variety of flora and fauna. Also, all of the wildlife above is especially protected due to the peaceful Buddhist communities in the higher mountains. Red Panda, musk deer, Himalayan goats, lophophorus, and many other rare animals are examples.

Helambu trekking route:
Helambu Trekking is divided int many different trekking trails:  Upper Helambu Circuit Trek and the Helambu Trek.

Upper Helambu Circuit Trek: starts from Ghopte Gyang, Thadepati, Ve-dadar, Leh Barma, Bemathang, Dukpu, and Chyomothang.

Helambu Trek: is Start from Sundarijal- Chisapani- Kutumsang- Thadepati- Melamchi Gyang- Tarke Gyang- Aama Yangri- Sermathang.

Ganjala Pass Trek:  Chyomothang- Dukpu- Gyaldang Phu- Yangri Khola -High Camp- Ganjala pass Kyangjin- Langtang- Lama Hotel- Syafrubesi- Kathmandu.

The Langtang Helambu trek’s most challenging adventure pass is this Helambu trekking, also referred to as Ganjala Pass trekking. Ganjala Pass connects Helambu and Langtang.
